I have always had a love of learning. My earliest memories are of learning to read and write. I have also always wanted to teach. I can remember lining up my stuffed animals to teach them the lessons I have learned earlier that day. My friends and family sat through countless lessons where I insisted on total attention and academic success in my earliest of years. As a high schooler, I volunteered extensively, tutored, participated in dozens of theatre performances, and excelled in a multitude of academic based extra curricular activities. During my two years at Seton Hill I studied Theatre Arts and Education. I spent the next decade traveling the US as a professional hairbraider and business owner at historical festivals and events while homeschooling my two children. I made the decision to become an educator when my youngest child reached first grade. Both children enrolled in school and started on their own educational journeys. I enrolled at Urbana University full time in 2014.
My family has supported me in this great adventure in learning to my great advantage. My children are my first students. They teach me as often as I teach them. Children have an endless wealth of curiosity. Foster that natural desire for answers and the most unbelievable things can be achieved.
